Durango Conversation
On June 28 2008 the Foundation for Protection of Animals hosted an all-day meeting for local animal welfare organizations at the Durango Rec Center. The meeting was sponsored by the FPA, Summerlee Foundation, Colorado Pet Overpopulation Fund, and Animal Assistance Foundation. The day was an opportunity for groups to introduce themselves, discuss goals and challenges, and listen to presentations about current Colorado animal welfare issues. Representatives from over 15 organizations, 2 states, and 4 counties attended. The outcome was new knowledge, new contacts, and the formation of a yahoo group.
